THE FINAL INTRODUCTION IS DANNY'S SCOOTER.
The main character deserves not only a Carnaby scooter special, but a very Carnaby special!

Rich says: "Being informed that a Red, White and Blue scooter was required, my heart sank. I was given an idea but I fought against it. I found it difficult to create a patriotic theme that hadn't been done before. After lots of designs not working for me I woke up in the middle of the night and scribbled down what had just popped into my head. Change white for Old English white, use a slightly toned down red but only on componentry and undercarriage, use a nice rich blue with pearlescent finish to make it a liquid blue." Here you can see the results....

SECOND UP IS A
CARNABY SCOOTER SPECIAL
FOR A funny guy who maybe
doesn't want to be on a scooter?

Richard explains "Coming up with a scooter for a fun character being played by a a fun actor who has personally had me in stitches in previous roles in various films (one in particular) this scooter was both difficult and easy for me to design. Easy in that it had to be a Mod Classic, difficult in executing the colourway required by not being too obvious.

On reading the script this particular character had me laughing from the get go. I could imagine the situations he gets into and on set I was treated to viewing some clips already filmed which had me laughing in reality as expected.

I feel that this character will be a part of the film that will catch people by surprise and I hope that that scooter I have put him on will be an extension of his personality both on and off camera."

FOR A SPECIAL LADY, A CARNABY SPECIAL LADY

From here on the journey is in full colour

In Richards words...
"Being commissioned to create scooters for a big movie production should be a blast right?

I design and together with my team deliver Carnaby Scooter Specials regularly so this should be easy and if nothing else, fun!
That was until I realised during the design process that I had met my match when its comes to perfection in Ray Burdis and his team.

Being given a very short timescale in which to design, build and deliver three specials I had underestimated the stress levels caused by bouncing design after design back and forth from my computer to the TBS design team, to finally reach an agreement on the final designs. Those designs will be shown in there full glory in the near future. Patience is a virtue folks!

Here I will introduce you to each scooter which in their own right are an extension of each of the main three characters of this truly British feel-good film.

First Up is a Carnaby Scooter Special for a very special lady...
After being handed the script of the film I read it from cover to cover. I then read it again, and once more for good measure. Getting a real feel for each character was paramount for me getting the designs of each Royal Alloy Scooter right.

For this female lead role I found myself thinking of both the character and the actress in the light that they are both portrayed in the film and in real life. Three words came to mind repeatedly that I can relate to both character and actress, loving, elegant and classy.
